The high-voltage switch tester is mainly used to test the insulation and withstand voltage properties of high-voltage switches. It features fast speed, high precision, safety, and reliability, making it a frequently used device for power workers. Before using the high-voltage switch tester, it is necessary to correctly install the sensors. If the sensors are not installed properly, it will be difficult to achieve the test accuracy. This article takes the YTC3980 high-voltage switch tester as an example to briefly introduce how to install sensors on the high-voltage switch tester.
1. Installation of Universal Speed Sensor.
Traditional speed sensors, regardless of type, consist of moving and stationary parts. The instrument samples the relative motion between the moving part and the stationary part. The advantage is that the principle is simple and clear; the disadvantage is that there are many types of switches, requiring different mounting brackets for different switches, which not only increases manufacturing costs but also makes on-site installation and disassembly difficult.
This instrument is equipped with an acceleration speed sensor, which solves the problem of difficult on-site installation. The universal sensor can be directly fixed to the switch's lifting rod, horizontal linkage, or other linearly moving transmission rods.
2. Rotary Sensor
The universal sensor is suitable for speed measurement when the sensor moves linearly. For some switches, especially imported and joint-venture switches, the linear transmission part is enclosed inside the switch body, and the universal sensor cannot find a mounting location. When the switch manufacturer conducts speed tests at the factory, they perform the test on the switch's opening/closing indicator or rotating shaft. In such cases, a rotary sensor is selected.
Installation Note: The shaft of the rotary sensor should be kept as concentric as possible with the switch's rotating shaft; otherwise, the sensor rotation will be hindered, and the measured curve will have heavy burrs, affecting the accuracy of the test data.
3. Linear Sensor
If the switch's operating stroke needs to be measured very accurately, a linear sensor is required.
There are three specifications of linear sensors: 50mm, 200mm, and 300mm.
The 50mm linear sensor is used for measuring the stroke speed of vacuum switches;
The 200mm and 300mm sensors are used for measuring the stroke and speed of SF6 switches. These two sensors are non-standard configurations. Taking a certain model of vacuum switch as an example, as shown below. When installing the linear resistance sensor, ensure that the sensor's moving shaft can move linearly, and fix the sensor with a magnetic universal bracket. For SF6 switches and oil switches, the method is similar.
Note: Due to the cumbersome on-site installation, the linear sensor is not a regular accessory of this product. Users can design their own mounting brackets for different switches as needed, keeping the sensor's pull rod parallel and synchronized with the movement of the switch's moving contact, so as to accurately measure the switch's operating stroke and corresponding speed.
The installation methods for different instruments and sensors are slightly different. Before installation, power workers should follow the instruction manual to perform the relevant installation. After correct installation, they can proceed with the test work.
