How should common problems in the use of secondary load testers be handled? The secondary load tester is mainly used to measure errors in electric energy metering devices, featuring fast testing speed and high accuracy. The secondary load tester developed by our company uses a large-capacity lithium battery as the working power source, which not only ensures system safety but also provides a relatively pure power supply to the instrument, avoiding on-site power interference and ensuring measurement accuracy. Nevertheless, during actual testing, due to operational errors or equipment aging, some minor faults may occur. This article takes the YTC2150secondary load tester as an example to briefly explain how to handle common problems in the use of secondary load testers.
1. No display after power-on:
Solution: Is the battery dead? First, connect an external charger. If it still does not work, stop using it immediately and contact the manufacturer. Do not open the instrument yourself, otherwise, you may not enjoy the warranty service.
2. Unstable data during testing:
Check whether the wiring is correct and has good contact, and whether there is significant interference in the surroundings.
3. Negative load appears during load testing:
Solution: Reverse the clamp meter.
4. The test of voltage drop in the secondary circuit of voltage transformers is generally carried out on-site under actual load conditions. Therefore, the relevant contents of the "Electric Power Safety Regulations" (Power Line Part) must be strictly implemented.
5. It is strictly forbidden to ground the secondary circuit of voltage transformers at two points to prevent short circuits on the secondary side that may damage equipment.
6. Before use, use an insulation resistance meter (or multimeter) to check whether the insulation between the cores of the dedicated measurement wires is good, whether the wires are properly connected, and whether the contacts between the wire ends and the wires are firm and intact.
7. After testing the voltage drop, if you need to test the secondary load, you must disconnect the wires and replace them with the dedicated wires for load testing before testing the load.
8. The instrument should not be exposed to rain or subjected to heavy pressure.
The secondary load tester is a high-precision, high-voltage-level power equipment testing instrument. Therefore, if a fault occurs, it should be handled by technicians who are familiar with electronic circuits and have considerable repair experience. They should fully read this manual, understand the signal flow, and troubleshoot step by step. Other personnel should not open the instrument for repair without authorization. At the same time, power workers should read the product manual carefully before using the instrument and strictly follow the requirements of the manual.
