Usage Methods and Precautions for AC/DC Digital Voltage Divider

   AC/DC Voltage Divider Usage Methods

    1. Securely ground the grounding terminal of the standardhigh-voltage voltage divider.

    2. Connect the high-voltage wire above the uniform voltage ball and tighten it with the wiring screw.

    3. Insert the input terminal on the instrument base into the measuring terminal of the digital high-voltage meter. When measuring DC, switch the toggle switch to the "DC" position; when measuring AC, switch it to the "AC" position.

    4. When the measured voltage is less than 20kV, select the "LOW" range; when it exceeds 20kV, select the "HIGH" range to obtain higher precision test values.

    5. Turn on the "Power" switch and select the appropriate range. At this time, the digital high-voltage meter will display "0.000" or "00.00", and you can start measuring.

    6. After the test is completed, cut off the high voltage. Only when the reading on the standard voltage divider shows "0.000" or "00.00" can you enter the site (during AC tests, the meter will slowly return to zero, but the high-voltage power supply is already de-energized, so please note the difference between AC and DC tests in this case).

    7. When measuring DC, if there is a filter capacitor, it should be fully discharged first. Only when the reading on the digital high-voltage meter indicates "0.000" can you proceed with related operations.

    8. During use and maintenance, always keep the surface of the voltage divider clean and prevent contamination.

This instrument should be placed in a dry place and properly stored.

    Precautions

     1. During use, there should be no debris within 2 meters around the voltage divider below 100KV (3 meters for 150KV-200KV voltage dividers, 4 meters for 300KV voltage dividers). The distance between the meter, voltage divider, and personnel should be determined according to the operating procedures for digital high-voltage meters in the electric power industry standards. Our company recommends maintaining a safe operating distance of at least 5-6 meters.

Adhere to the principle of handling with care, and never collide or squeeze. This brings great convenience to the detection work.

    2. The standard voltage divider should be placed in dry air. After use, it should be put back into the aluminum alloy case to prevent moisture.

    3. When a relatively obvious discharge sound is heard, it indicates that the standard voltage divider may be damp. Use a drying blower to blow from top to bottom for 1-2 minutes.

    4. After completing the AC test, the dedicated display meter will not immediately return to zero but will slowly decrease. This is due to the true RMS measurement method. The return-to-zero time is generally 10-15 minutes. If it does not completely return to zero, it does not affect measurement accuracy. Because AC has no "positive" or "negative" polarity, but during AC tests, the meter display still shows a "-" sign. This is a negative signal output designed by the TMS conversion chip to improve anti-electromagnetic interference capability, and it has no impact on test accuracy. Additionally, during AC measurement, repeated measurements without the meter returning to zero will not affect accuracy.
