Introduction to Power Frequency High Voltage Generator
Features of Power Frequency High Voltage Generator
1. Compact size, light weight, more aesthetically pleasing, more reliable, easy to operate, and fully functional, making it ideal for field use. It is an ideal and reliable product for the new century.
2. Manufactured with advanced technology and processes, it is the first to apply new PWM high-frequency pulse width modulation technology and pulse train logic array modulation. It uses high-power IGBT devices and high-frequency technology to increase the frequency up to 100kHz, resulting in higher output voltage stability and lower ripple factor.
3. High precision and accurate measurement. Both voltage and current are digitally displayed, with voltage resolution of 0.1kV and current resolution of 0.1uA. The voltmeter on the control box directly displays the voltage applied to the load test object, eliminating the need for an external voltage divider and simplifying wiring. The instrument can measure leakage current at both high and low voltage ends. The high-voltage end uses a circular digital meter display, which is resistant to discharge impact and has good anti-interference performance, making it suitable for on-site use.
4. High voltage regulation stability, smooth voltage adjustment across the full range. The output voltage adjustment uses an imported single multi-turn potentiometer, ensuring a stable boosting process and high adjustment precision, with both coarse and fine adjustment functions. Voltage regulation is better than 0.1%, voltage and current measurement errors are less than 1.0%, and the ripple factor is better than 0.5%.
5. Negative output, zero-start, continuously adjustable, with various protection functions such as overvoltage, overcurrent, zero return, grounding protection, and unique open-circuit protection. The automatic protection circuit is powerful, comprehensive, and reliable, ensuring safe operation. All technical indicators are superior to industry standards and similar products.
6. Added high-precision 75% VDC-1mA function, bringing great convenience to zinc oxide arrester measurements. With a simple press, no calculation is needed. The control box has a 75% voltage function key. During zinc oxide arrester tests, when the current rises to 1000uA, press the 0.75 button. The values displayed on the voltmeter and ammeter are the 75% data. After completion, immediately return the boosting knob to zero, and also return the fine voltage adjustment knob to zero, then press the green button to cut off high voltage and turn off the power switch before proceeding with other tests.
7. Convenient overvoltage setting function, using a digital thumbwheel switch to display the set voltage value directly, making operation more flexible. The displayed value unit is kV.
8. The voltage doubler cylinder has a sectional structure, providing flexibility and convenience for field use. One machine can serve multiple purposes, offering economic benefits.
Usage Precautions
1. Personnel using the high voltage generator must be professionals with a "High Voltage Test Work Permit".
2. Users must comply with Article 168 of the "Electric Power Safety Regulations" and install two obvious disconnection points before the working power enters the tester. When replacing test objects or wiring, first clearly disconnect the two power disconnection points.
3. Before testing, check that all test wiring, control box, voltage doubler cylinder, and test object grounding wires are properly connected. The test circuit grounding wire should be connected to a single point as required by the instrument manual.
4. For discharging large capacitance test objects, use a dedicated discharge rod. Do not directly contact the test object with the discharge rod; gradually approach it. When the air gap begins to ionize and discharge with a hissing sound, and when the sound stops, the discharge rod can be used for discharge, then directly connect to the ground wire for discharge.
5. When DC high voltage is 200KV or above, even if test personnel wear insulating shoes and are in a safe distance area, the spatial electric field distribution of high-voltage DC ions may cause adjacent standing personnel to carry different DC potentials. Test personnel should not shake hands with each other or touch grounded objects with their hands, as this may cause a slight electric shock. This phenomenon is more noticeable in dry areas and winter, but due to the small energy, it generally does not cause harm to the human body.
6. The power supply for the power frequency high voltage generator control box is AC 220V±10%, 50Hz. If the power supply is through a 1/1 isolation transformer or a self-generated power source on site, it is necessary to manually connect one point of the power supply to the earth.
Fault Inspection and Handling:
1. When the power switch is turned on, if the digital display on the control box does not light up, check the power connection and all fuses. If a fuse is damaged, replace it with a new fuse of the amperage indicated next to the fuse holder.
2. If the digital display lights up when the power switch is turned on, but the high voltage green indicator does not light up and high voltage cannot be applied.
(1) If the fault display "Return to Zero" light is on, it means the knob is not in the zero position. Turn the high voltage output adjustment knob and fine adjustment knob counterclockwise back to zero until the "Return to Zero" light goes off, then high voltage can be applied.
(2) If the fault display "Other" light is on, there are two possibilities: grounding protection or open-circuit protection. a. The grounding wire may not be connected properly or may not be reliably grounded. Connect a reliable grounding wire, turn off the power, and restart. b. The cable connecting the control box and the high voltage tower may not be connected properly. Connect the cable properly, turn off the power, and restart. Or the solder joints at both ends of the cable may be detached; solder them properly, turn off the power, and restart. c. A wire connection inside the control box may be detached; re-solder it properly, turn off the power, and restart.
3. Everything is normal, but protection occurs before reaching the rated output voltage.
(1) If the fault display "Overcurrent" light is on: a. The test object is short-circuited or the leakage current is too large. b. For large capacitive loads, if the voltage is increased too quickly, turn off the power, restart, and slow down the voltage increase.
(2) If the fault display "Overvoltage" light is on: The overvoltage protection setting knob is not in the maximum position. Turn it clockwise to the maximum position, turn off the power, and restart.
4. When a short circuit occurs under high voltage on the test object, due to the large short-circuit current, all fault indicator lights may light up. This is normal. After troubleshooting the test object, restart.
5. After troubleshooting the test object, if the fault indicator lights remain on and high voltage cannot be applied, the power switch also serves as the fault protection reset switch. Turn off the power and restart to apply high voltage.
6. If the voltmeter reading fluctuates significantly, check whether the solder joints of pin 7 on the aviation plugs at both ends of the connecting cable are detached. If detached, solder them properly.
