Instructions for J5-10 Steel Bar Gauge Marking Instrument

  • Overview

This gauge marking instrument is specifically designed for testing the elongation rate of steel bars. It is more accurate than manual marking, and its efficiency can be improved dozens of times, greatly reducing the labor time of test personnel. This machine has the characteristics of high precision, easy operation, and convenient movement. It is an essential instrument in the laboratory.

  • Technical Parameters

  1. Marking gauge: 5mm  10mm

  2. Maximum error: 300mm  ±0.3mm

  3. Dimensions: 530×200×300mm

  4. Weight: approximately 23 kg

  5. Hardness of steel cone: HRC62

  • Structure

This machine consists of a base, support frame, V-shaped groove, marking assembly, and electrical components.

  • Operation Method

  1. First, determine the marking gauge. The method to adjust the distance is to loosen the fixing screws on both sides of the marking assembly. Move the cone rod sleeve to the left end for 10mm, and to the right end for 5mm, then tighten the fixing screws.

  2. Lift the cone rod lifting handle, place the steel bar directly into the V-shaped groove (with the straight edge of the deformed steel bar facing up) and secure it firmly.

Note: Lift the cone rod with your left hand, and move the lifting handle to the left with your right hand to avoid damaging the machine parts due to excessive force.

  1. Lower the handle, turn the handwheel to lower the cone rod to the lowest position, adjust the height adjustment handle so that the steel cone contacts the steel bar, then continue to lower it by 1-2mm. Do not lower it too much, otherwise, when marking, ensure that the cone head has sufficient allowance to penetrate the steel bar.

  2. Lift the handle, turn the handle counterclockwise to move the marking assembly to the far left.

  3. Lower the cone rod, rotate the handle clockwise at a uniform speed until the marking assembly moves to the far right.

  4. Lift the cone rod, loosen the steel bar fixing screw, remove the steel bar, and the marking is completed.

  • Precautions

  1. Keep this instrument clean at all times and store it in a dry place.

  2. Regularly add lubricating oil to the sliding parts.
