It is specifically used to accurately measure the DC resistance of inductive load windings such as transformers, motors, and instrument transformers, and is a core tool for judging the health status of the equipment's conductive circuit.

By measuring DC resistance, various defects in winding material selection, manufacturing, and operation can be effectively detected, such as wire breakage, poor soldering, inter-turn short circuits, or poor contact of tap changer contacts.
