Precautions for Micro Moisture Tester

Precautions for Micro Moisture Tester:

1. During normal measurement, each 100 ml of reagent can react with no less than 1.5 grams of water. If the measurement time is too long and the reagent sensitivity decreases, replace the electrolyte.

2. If strong bubbles are released during electrolysis in the cathode chamber, or the electrolyte is contaminated to a light reddish-brown color, the blank current will increase, the linearity of measurement will decrease, and the time to reach the endpoint will be prolonged. In this case, replace the electrolyte as soon as possible.

3. If the electrolysis time exceeds half an hour and the instrument is still not stable, stop stirring and check whether there is obvious brown iodine under the platinum mesh below the electrolysis electrode. If there is none or very little iodine, replace the electrolyte.

4. To ensure smooth disassembly of various parts on the electrolytic cell bottle, move the ground glass joints (including electrodes, drying tube, sample injection stopcock, etc.) at least once a week.

5. The drying tube contains indicating silica gel, mainly used to absorb moisture in the air inside the electrolytic cell. Replace it promptly when discoloration is observed to avoid an increase in blank current.

6. When replacing the electrolyte, do it quickly because the special ceramic semipermeable membrane under the electrolysis electrode is prone to moisture absorption, which may prevent the instrument from reaching the endpoint for a long time. Rinse the cathode chamber several times with new electrolyte, then inject new electrolyte and shake a few times until no color change occurs before installing the cell bottle. If the electrolytic cell bottle is heavily contaminated, clean it with acetone, methanol, etc. Especially clean the inner and outer platinum meshes of the electrolysis electrode and the two platinum claws of the measuring electrode thoroughly. Then dry in an oven at 80°C for 1 hour, allow to cool naturally, and then replace with new electrolyte.

7. It is recommended to use the dedicated electrolyte provided by our factory. Using electrolytes from other brands may result in insufficient accuracy, decreased sensitivity, and prolonged time to reach the endpoint. Any abnormalities caused by using other brands are not the responsibility of our factory.

8. The working environment for the micro moisture tester should be free of corrosive gases, avoid direct sunlight, and the 220V power supply must have a reliable ground wire. It is best to connect an AC voltage stabilizer.

9. The storage temperature for the electrolyte should preferably be below 8°C. In summer, it can be stored in a refrigerator at constant temperature. The shelf life is more than half a year. Use as needed and avoid direct sunlight.
